First School Compass for Students

A Simple Steel Compass for Early Geometry Work

This steel school compass gives students a sturdy first tool for drawing circles, arcs, and simple geometric forms in math, art, and drafting lessons. Its straightforward open-and-close design is easy to understand, making it well suited for upper elementary and early middle school students beginning compass work.

Made with metal legs rather than lightweight plastic, this compass offers a steady feel for repeated classroom or homeschool use. A solid needle point, rounded lead insert, and molded storage case help keep early geometry work organized and approachable.

For students ready for smoother fine adjustment, see our Quick-Set Geometry Compass. For advanced geometry, larger circles, and pencil-adapter use, see our Adjustable Quick-Set Bow Compass.
